Bombanana Known Issues: Invites, Colorblind, Mic, Crashes

Before you report anything

The developer’s pinned troubleshooting post, condensed:

  1. Check you meet the minimum requirements.
  2. Update graphics drivers; if you just updated, try rolling back.
  3. Verify integrity of game files (Steam → right-click the game → Properties → Installed Files).
  4. Audio problems: check whether they happen only in this game.
  5. Connection problems: test whether you can connect to anyone, make sure the firewall allows the game, and turn off any VPN temporarily.

Bugs go to the Bug Reports forum on Steam or the official Discord, using the pinned template.

Cannot invite or join friends

The single most-replied thread of the demo period (“me too”, “me too too”). Fixes in order: verify files on both machines, disable VPN, share a room code instead of a Steam invite, and if it persists, join through the server browser. One player noted other games’ invites worked fine while BOMBANANA!‘s did not, which points at the game rather than the network; if the room code also fails, report it.

Colorblind mode stuck on

Confirmed on the Bug Reports forum: switching the game language to Spanish turns colorblind mode on, and for some players it cannot be turned off. The developer (Seraxia) asked on the thread whether the On/Off label is simply reversed — try the opposite toggle, and try changing language back. A launch review echoes the same problem (“we can’t turn off color blind mode, seems like a bug”). No patch yet as of September 3.

Microphone not recognised

Two of the three roles need a working mic. Threads in Portuguese and English report the game not picking one up. Check Windows privacy settings allow desktop apps to use the microphone, set the right default device before launching, and remember the Mute Monkey never needs one — swap roles if a mic dies mid-session.

The level will not start

“I set myself to READY and clicked START but it didn’t start.” The forum’s answer: you need three players, all readied. There is no solo mode; a lobby with one or two people cannot launch a bomb.

”No light on the LED” on the switch panel

Reported during the demo as a possible bug. Before reporting, re-read the switch module rule: the colour order across all four lights is what selects the manual row. If one light genuinely never lights, that is a bug report.

Crashes and not launching

Portuguese threads report the game failing to launch on some machines during the demo. Standard fixes apply (verify files, drivers, run as administrator, check antivirus quarantine). The FAQ’s instruction is to post in Bug Reports with the pinned template.
